Getting a reservation here was tough! But it was so worth it. We spent a weekday evening here eating a three course, and everything was so delicious. The staff were so kind. There is a ton of room and so much space. The chairs are comfortable and there are curtains between tables for privacy. It's a great place for a fancy dinner to celebrate any special occasion.

A dear friend treated me to a belated birthday meal and I was blown away and wish it was easier to get reservations to be able to head back sooner. I love the atmosphere with the dark wood tones and banquets, perfect for cozy conversations. We started with the burrata, a seasonal carrot dish, and focaccia--all were delightful. We shared two pasta dishes--tagliatelle al nido and a lumache pasta dish with green tomatoes (special for the night). As much as I enjoyed the tagliatelle (reminded me of a similar dish that would eat at il Corvo) my favorite dish 2-: the lumache pasta--perfect bite and such a brightness with the tomatoes. It also didn't feel overly heavy as the tagliatelle did... Such an enjoyable evening and looking forward to hopefully heading back for the next special moment!

Host and overall service was great! Very attentive and seemed happy to celebrate all guests who were celebrating something. I overheard lots of other guests here for birthdays, anniversaries, tourists, etc. I was also here for a birthday dinner! Street parking was easy for an early dinner, but I can see how it would be difficult on a warm sunny day since this is so close to the beach. We were able to snag reservations for two on the day of. This was a Tuesday. My favorite dishes of the night were actually the antipasti. Really enjoyed the deep fried olives and the burrata. Highly recommend these both! Each pasta dish we tried had meat and it was very rich. I think they needed something to cut through the richness of the meat sauce. Glad we got brussels!

We were at Alki Beach and wrapping up our day on this side of Seattle on our last night in town. We were now hungry. My wife looked up some places and said "Ooooh this Il Nido place looks delicious, but I don't think we'll ever get in there." Some people on the walk up told us it was wonderful, but we'd never get in. We walked up and they confirmed there was no way for us to get in that night. We started to leave and she said she could get us in tomorrow. We said this was our last night before returning to Florida and we knew it was a long shot. She asked for our number and told us to go walk around the beach for a bit and she'd see what she could do. She called about 10 minutes later. We got a funky little setup by the bar and the front windows, but we got a seat! It was cute and the entire restaurant was super funky. It smelled so good in there. We had a little wine. We had some apps. We had some gnocchi. We had some ragu. We had some gelato. A man that we believe may have been the owner came over and chatted with us. He had heard the story of how they fit us in on our last night in town and he told us that everyone loves the tiny booth we were in. He was very nice and even noticed we were out of water and ran back himself to get us some. It seemed like a very tough place to get into and they made some magic happen for us that night.

I made a reservation to celebrate an anniversary and saw Il Nido had good reviews. There's a parking lot which made it easy to park. There's also seasonal items which is nice. Overall all the staff were attentive and friendly which made the experience better. The aesthetics were also very interesting and had a historical aspect - it's not your typical nice restaurant. focaccia: really delicious tomato her focaccia that comes with a garlic olive oil and vinegar dip. If you love bread you'll love the focaccia. Negroni nuts: unique item I haven't come across and it was very good. slightly bitter and sweet and would definitely get them again. tagliatelle: the pasta was al dente and the ragu was meaty but on the salty side. Deckle cut steak (special) with bone marrow butter: very tender cut although I couldn't taste the bone marrow butter. polenta: served as an appetizer, the polenta was creamy and cheesy inside with the outside crunchy. blueberry panna cotta: nice end to the meal but would definitely try something else. Overall a great spot to celebrate something special!

Il Nido is still a nice dining experience, despite the changes in ownership/the kitchen. Service is excellent - warm, knowledgeable (re: the menu and ingredients). Speaking of warm... there's no air conditioning at the Homestead, so keep that in mind re: where you are seated (unless you can score a seat by an open window, during the summer I would rec the outdoor patio - it's a few degrees cooler than the dining room). The portion sizes are more diminutive than they were on Easton's watch, but the food is still tasty and well-prepared. The focaccia and lettuces were our favorites of the appetizers. We sampled various pastas and proteins; all were delicious, although not particularly mind-blowing. There was a heavy hand with fresh mint (it appeared as a garnish on more than one dish); if that's not your thing, be sure to note that. The salmon portion was maybe 5-6 oz? Pastas were in that range as well. Don't come hungry. The desserts were pleasant enough. If you live in West Seattle this is a solid place to grab dinner, but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine at Il Nido otherwise.

We came here for a birthday dinner. The servers were VERY professional, friendly, and attentive! This place is super cute and cozy -- it looks like it might've been a house in the past. All of the pastas were delicious. I love the creativity and attention to detail that goes into each one. Even though the flowers don't taste like anything, they're just so cute and I think they complete the dish well. My favorite pasta was the pesto pea vine macaroni. The focaccia was also so delicious. Very airy and light and the dip was SO yummy! For me, this is definitely a higher end restaurant that I'd only come for special occasions, but I'm looking forward to the next visit!
